Martin Heinrich makes Esquire’s best dressed list

This month’s issue of Esquire magazine has a collection of 17 of the best-dressed politicians on Capitol Hill and Rep. and Senate candidate Martin Heinrich (D-New Mexico) makes the cut.
Here’s what the men’s style magazine said about Heinrich:
The list was bi-partisan, with Democrats like Vice President Joe Biden and congressman Charlie Rangel joining Republicans such as Rep. Paul Ryan and Speaker of the House John Bohner.
There’s a famous phrase that says Washington DC is Hollywood for ugly people, but in 2009, Heinrich topped the list of the 50 Most Beautiful People on Capitol Hill. The Huffington Post joined in on the fun that year, proclaiming the freshman one of Washington’s hottest.
The Esquire nod doesn’t figure to make any difference in Heinrich’s race against Republican Heather Wilson this November but then again, it can’t hurt.
Postscript: For laughs, it’s too bad Mr. Blackwell isn’t around anymore. He could have put up a Washington Worst Dressed List.
There would be plenty of contenders:
And remember the former congressman from Ohio, Jim Traficant, who ended up going to prison?:
Don’t know what’s the greater crime — the clothes or the hair.
