Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech and Clint Eastwood’s strange podium performance are the talk of the Thursday night finale of the Republican National Convention. But the convention speech with the longest-term implications may have been delivered Wednesday by New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez — for one reason: demographics.
Right now close to 90% of African Americans and around 60% of Latino voters back President Obama. If they want to change that, Republicans should take notes, because Martinez’s speech was the blueprint for the GOP’s black and Latino appeal.
